The Golden War was a conflict between the Coalition, the Hive brood of the Weavers of Sorrow, the Cabal's Golden Legion and the Tarnished. Hive forces of the Weavers contest for territory in the Dreaming City while the Golden Legion set up blockades in the Reef to keep the Hive at bay.
