The Vex Line Rifle is a directed-energy weapon deployed on the Hobgoblin chassis.
Overview
The Line Rifle serves as a Vex sniper weapon, pinning down targets or delivering the killing blow. Like its counterpart, the Slap Rifle, Line Rifles are a terminal weapon - though its source is much more energetic. It is believed by some that the weapon pulls material from the accretion disk of a galactic singularity. Such an energy source would imply the Vex are near - or have already achieved - access to a terrifying range of civilization-killing weapons. Others, however, consider this unlikely, and propose that the Line Rifle simply draws from a central Vex power supply. They deal Solar damage. [1]
The Taken variant of this weapon fires Void beams, but is otherwise the same, with the difference being in how Taken Hobgoblins fight.
A massive variant of this rifle is found in the hands the rare Hobgoblin Axis Minds, like Agioktis, Martyr Mind. It features a tri-pointed barrel, allowing for three conduits instead of the regular single one, and thus greater stopping power.
