The Tarnished Chieftain is a Major variant of the Scorn Chieftain.
Gameplay
A Void Tarnished Chieftain appears in the first encounter of The Cunning mission of the Witch Queen Campaign[1]. It holds the second bridge alongside a Void Corrupted Chieftain, summoning Ether Shields in support of the enemies on the previous bridge. Two Solar ones appear further in, at the temple's approach, defending the area before the first raised drawbridge. Finally, two Arc ones appear at the second raised drawbridge, before the side path to the third. All of these are armed with Scorn Cannons, and will be exchanged with Overload Chieftains on Legend or Master difficulty.
Over time, many other Major Chieftains and Corrupted Chieftains have been renamed to Tarnished Chieftain, like the one in the Preservation mission guarding the "Give" room, or the ones that try to stop the Guardians from taking the plates in the Birthplace of the Vile Strike.
