Val Cempas is a Cabal Phalanx of the Imperial Cabal who serves as a commander and one of the Imperial Generals who volunteered to defend the champion of Cabal, Ignovun, Chosen of Caiatl.

They are slain by a group of Guardians inside the Halphas Electus during the Proving Grounds Strike.

Caiatl's Cabal Triumph

Val Cempas will occasionally spawn in the first phase of "Redirect the Tank's Power Flow" portion of the strike. They will appear alongside Legionnaries and attempt to stop players from reaching the first power unit situated at the middle platform of the room. The first room will also have additional reinforcements such as sniper Psions and Scorpius. In some instances they can be replaced by Val Veorthus and because of this multiple play throughs of the strike is recommended to increase the likelihood of encountering Cempas.

Gameplay

Val Cempas is a Major Phanlanx who distinctly wears yellow armour. Cempas has significant durability and health and also carries an energy shield to provide cover from damage. Cempas will shoot players with its Slug Rifle and with its shield deployed, he will shoot over the shield to damage players. In close proximity, Cempas will melee players with its Shield and on occasions do a lunge attack with its shield. Cempas is capable of limited flight and will move across the platforms of the Halphas Electus to avoid fire. Heavy weaponry is recommended to eliminate Cempas quickly. In rare occasions it is possible to defeat Cempas by having them fall into the tracks of the Halphas.
