Etheric Light is an end-game upgrade material used to upgrade any Year One Legendary equipment to the maximum Attack or Defense levels for Year One.

How to obtain

Etheric Light can be obtained through a variety of methods:[1][2]

  • Complete the Weekly Nightfall Strike (random chance)
  • Reach rank 3 in Iron Banner and purchase from Lord Saladin for 5000 Glimmer (once per character per event)
  • Reach rank 5 in Iron Banner and purchase from Lord Saladin for 5000 Glimmer (once per character per event)
  • Complete Trials of Osiris matches (random chance)
  • Purchase a Silver Tier (6 wins) package from Brother Vance (guaranteed)
  • Purchase a Gold Tier (8 wins) package from Brother Vance (guaranteed)
  • Achieve 9 wins and 0 losses in Trials of Osiris and open the chest at The Lighthouse (random chance)
  • Complete the Prison of Elders level 34 and 35 challenges (guaranteed)

Trivia

  • Etheric means multiple things; one possible definition is a substance pertaining to the upper regions of space, or the heavens. Another is the theoretical substance that occupies all space, used to explain electromagnetic radiation but later disproven with the existence of photons.
