Andal Brask was the former Hunter Vanguard before Cayde-6 took the post. The two were close friends, and Andal had Cayde-6 do the Vanguard dare. On a mission, Andal Brask was murdered by the Fallen mercenary Taniks, the Scarred. With Andal dead, Cayde-6 reluctantly took up the Vanguard post in memory of his fallen friend.[1]
