- "We play by the old rules, the best rules. We play for keeps."
- — Tex Mechanica.[1]
Tex Mechanica is a weapon foundry from the Last City who develops weapons in the style of the Wild West.[2]
It is one of the the City's oldest weapon foundries and believed to have been around when the City Wall construction was at its early stage.
History
Early City Age
During the Early City Age Tex Mechanica had the mindset that was widely accepted at the time, survival of the fittest. They made weapons for Guardians to use and would continue for years to come.
Late City Age
Tex Mechanica has been known to involve themselves in shady business dealings, it's mindset is still that of the Early ages. They attempted to bribe Lord Shaxx into fixing Crucible matches to make their weapons look good, but Shaxx threatened them with sending a squad of Titans into their factory at the suggestion. To smooth things out, they shipped him free weapons.[3] They also accepted a substantial bribe from the player in return for getting into the next phase of their shotgun contest.[4]
Tex Mechanica Products
For non-Exotic gear, Tex Mechanica seems to be including the model/variant number in the name of the weapon (e.g. Silvered Maverick Mk. 41, Primed Big Sky Mk. 48); there are a few instances of the same weapon coming in different variants, like Outlander Mk. 26 and Outlander Mk. 38. Much of the gear shares the signature Wild West theme in their naming and flavour texts - be it Stampede Mk.32, Bandit Mk. 24 or Copperhead Mk. 32. Amongst all known Tex Mechanica weapons, Hand Cannons and Shotguns definitely prevail.
