Plasteel Plating is gained by dismantling Uncommon, Rare, or Legendary Titan Armor and is used to upgrade other Titan armor. Higher-rarity and fully upgraded armor provide more Plasteel Plating when dismantled. The Taken King replaces Plasteel Plating with Armor Materials.

The name "Plasteel" may refer to the extremely durable metal of the same name in Frank Herbert's novel Dune.
