==Gameplay==
The Wire Rifle fires a high-velocity [[Arc]] bolt that punches through [[Guardian]] shields at long range, so using cover is advised. The weapon must charge for a second before firing, causing it to emit a recognizable sound and blue flash, which an attentive player can use to predict the attack and dodge it. The weapon is found almost exclusively in the hands of [[Vandal]]s or mounted on the chassis of [[Tracer Shank]]s, though it is also the preferred weapon of some large [[Captain]]s, like the [[Technocrat's Assistant]]s.

Some [[Heavy Shank]]s, like [[S.A.B.E.R.-2]], can mount a [[Solar]] variant of this weapon.

[[Taken Vandal]]s with Wire Rifles have their damage type changed to Solar, and can fire the weapon faster, though with lower precision.

The [[SIVA]] infused variant used by [[Splicer Vandal]]s fires in three-round Solar bursts with an erratic trajectory, making it harder to track the shooter.

*Guardians can use a wieldable version of the Wire Rifle, called the [[Queenbreakers' Bow]] [[Fusion Rifle]]/[[Linear Fusion Rifle]].
*The Wire Rifle is seemingly compatible with an unspecified caliber of ammunition produced by [[Tex Mechanica]]. Evidence (or more likely an oversight by a developer) of this is located in the [[Tangled Shore]], where one such rifle lays in a vantage point within a foundry, overlooking [[Sorik's Cut]].
