The Witness and its forces finally arrive at Earth's orbit to confront the Traveler. The forces of the Coalition respond to defend it, but the defense fails as the pilots go down in the fight and the Witness soon learns the location of [[The Veil]]. The Guardian and Osiris follow the [[Shadow Legion]] fleet heading for [[Neptune]]. Upon landing on Neptune, the Coalition begins an alliance with the people of Neomuna by assisting the Cloud Striders in the fight against the Shadow Legion led by the newly-risen Disciple of the Witness, Emperor Calus. Months later, after finally finding a way inside the portal by resurrecting Savathûn who then proceeded to reveal to them that the only way to safely cross the portal into the [[The Pale Heart|Pale Heart]] required the help of the [[Ahamkara]], Crow volunteered to enter the Pale Heart first once the Guardian managed to secure [[Riven]] and [[Taranis]]'s eggs from the Dreaming City. As the Vanguard awaited a response from Crow and Osiris goes to work preparing the connection between the Traveler and the Veil long enough for Crow to enter the Pale Heart, the Witness sends its forces to attack the Last City and recreate the [[Black Heart]] as its final attempt to stop the Coalition from following it and soon Crow inside the Pale Heart. The destruction of the recreated Black Heart allows Crow to enter the Pale Heart, and his paracausal connection with Mara allows the other Coalition members to enter the portal. The Vanguard and the Guardian would arrive next inside the Pale Heart as the Witness is close to enacting the Final Shape upon the universe. The Coalition allies eventually arrive there as the Guardian and the Vanguard travel to the site where the [[Penitent]] faction of the [[Precursors (Species)|Precursor]] civilization used the power of the Veil to create the Witness and discover a way to wound it. After the Coalition arrived in the Pale Heart, they set up base within [[The Lost City]], an area within the Pale Heart manifesting the memory of the Tower prior its destruction in the Red War. The Guardian works alongside various Coalition allies to prepare them for their assault on the Witness's monolith. They work with Caiatl to sabotage a Shadow Legion plan to deploy Light-harvesting machines, Mithrax to confront a [[Korha, the Hollow|familiar foe]] responsible for the death of his mother [[Inaaks]] long ago, Crow and [[Cayde-6]] to investigate a lead on the Witness’s experiments with Dark Ether, and [[Micah-10]] to oversee solutions to heal the Traveler from the Witness's corruption. The Coalition begins preparing for battle as the the Guardian begins their assault on the monolith upon helping the Coalition allies, forming a temporary alliance with the [[Lucent Brood]], and acquiring [[Ergo Sum]] as a final gift from the Traveler. The Coalition begins deploying en masse after the Guardian forced the Witness out of the monolith and permanently prevented the Final Shape from being enacted. They were eventually victorious in the final battle against the Witness and celebrate their victory within the Last City by placing lanterns into the sky.

The Witness's death created 2 things: [[Echo (object)|Echo]]es housing the memories of various civilizations the Witness conquered made real by the Light and an aurora around the Traveler. The Vanguard instructs the Coalition fleet to enact a no-fly zone around the aurora the Vanguard later calls the [[Valence]]. The Echoes would spread out from the Traveler and eventually land on [[Nessus]], the [[Dreadnaught]], and one other location. The first Echo which landed on Nessus falls under the possession of [[Maya Sundaresh|the Conductor]], who planned to use the Vex to create a second Golden Age. The second Echo eventually falls under the possession of [[Fikrul, the Fanatic|Fikrul]], who is using it to create a new army for himself.
