| The Red War storyline became the center of a lawsuit against [[Bungie]] in October, 2024, when sci-fi author Kelsey Martineau alleged that Bungie copied elements of their story (written in 2013/'14) for the narrative. The main point of the lawsuit claims that both Martineau's story and ''Destiny 2'' feature a faction called the Red Legion as the main antagonists in their respective stories. In Martineau's story, the Red Legion is an alien army led by Overlord Yinnerah, a warlord that seeks to conquer Earth and claim Tononob Station, a massive floating habitat in low orbit. As of October 10, 2024, Bungie has not responded to the lawsuit.<ref>[https://gamerant.com/sci-fi-author-lawsuit-against-bungie/ '''Game Rant''' - ''Sci-Fi Author Files Lawsuit Against Bungie'']</ref>
