- "This devastating squad support weapon is capable of completely halting enemy advances with a hail of microrockets. It performs so well that it has undergone very little enhancement or modification since its introduction. The Cabal's Colossus heavy infantry units wield Heavy Slug Throwers to devastating effect. In Guardian parlance, these weapons deal Solar damage."
- — Heavy Slug Thrower Grimoire[1]
Heavy Slug Throwers (also known as Power Slug Throwers in Destiny 2)[2] are heavy weapons used exclusively by Cabal Colossi.
Overview[edit]
These weapons fire like a modern day chain gun, with their barrels needing to reach a certain spin velocity before they can fire at full efficiency. They unleash a hail of Solar micromissiles in rapid succession, melting Guardian shields in a matter of seconds. They may or may not be linked to the Cabal Battle Network.
The Heavy Slug Thrower of Ta'aun, Hand of Oryx was changed into a chitinous weapon with a Taken core, though its characteristics remained unchanged.
A Heavy Slug Thrower would later enter the use of the Guardians during a Guardian Games under the name Heir Apparent.
Trivia[edit]
- The exotic Machine Gun Heir Apparent is a player-wieldable version of the Power Slug Thrower.
