Knight Echoes are the central mechanic of the dungeon. These Knights hold three motes each, and the type of mote they drop is determined by whether the player that kills them is standing in the light or in the darkness. Correctly slaying the Knight Echoes while surviving theirs and their fellows' attacks is thus fundamental to completing all the encounters.
