When an Echo exited the Pale Heart and crashed down into Nessus, Kalliks and his crew aboard his Ketch would look down at the planet. The Baron would recognize that there was something in the core of Nessus due to both the planet and Vex's response. Turning to the consul beside him, Kalliks would hear the older Eliksni speak of the "[[The Traveler|Great Machine]]" in disgust and how something has erupted from it. Furthermore they had intercepted the [[Vanguard]] comms that referred to the object as an anomaly. Looking at his console's screen, Kalliks would discover that [[Failsafe]] had been sending [[Guardian]]s into Vex territory to uncover information. Desiring to retrieve the Echo for themselves, Kalliks would order his forces to ready the cages and to arm the mines. Penetrating the [[Well of Flame]], Kalliks and his forces would capture the Vex units within to extract the intel they possess. However Kalliks and his crew would be confronted by a fireteam of Guardians outside of the well. Engaging with the Guardian forces, Kalliks would choose to retreat into the Well. After deactivating the barrier blocking the entrance, the Guardians confront Kalliks within a room with imprisoned Vex. To halt the Guardians efforts, Kalliks releases the Vex before transmatting away from the battle. Within a cavern containing imprisoned Vex, Kalliks is ambushed by the fireteam, causing the Baron to retreat once more. Eventually the Guardians arrive at a large cavern where Kalliks and his crew had were containing a [[Hypolydron, Captive Mind|Vex Mind]]. Despite his strength and uncountable reinforcements, Kalliks is defeated by the fireteam who go on to destroy the Vex Mind shortly after.

Kalliks is first encountered at the stairs leading to the Well of Flame alongside his forces, including [[Resilient Captain]]s. Upon losing half of his health, Kalliks will retreat further up the stairway where he will fire at the Guardians from above. After losing around one third of his health, Kalliks will teleport away. To lower the barrier leading into the well, the Guardians must defeat receive nine pieces of Fallen data by skay8ng [[Data Safeguard]]s, which can be spawned by killing swarms of Fallen. The first and second set of Data Safeguards will consist of a Servitor and two Tracer Shanks. While the third set will consist of two Heavy Shanks and a [[Data Safeguard Servitor]]. Eliminating them will lower the barrier and allow the Guardian to delve in the well.
