==Overview==
These weapons fire like a modern day chain gun, with their barrels needing to reach a certain spin velocity before they can fire at full efficiency. They unleash a hail of [[Solar]] micromissiles in rapid succession, melting [[Guardian]] shields in a matter of seconds. They may or may not be linked to the [[Cabal Battle Network]].

The Heavy Slug Thrower of [[Ta'aun, Hand of Oryx]] was changed into a chitinous weapon with a [[Taken]] core, though its characteristics remained unchanged.

A Heavy Slug Thrower would later enter the use of the Guardians during a [[Guardian Games]] under the name [[Heir Apparent]].
