| Special Grenade Launchers fall under one of 4 archetypes: wave frame, double fire, lightweight, and Area Denial. Wave frame grenade launchers fire grenades that detonate into a linear wave of energy when it contacts the ground, similar to a Thermite grenade, while Lightweight frames detonate on release of the trigger or when the grenade hits a target, and double fire frames allow 2 grenades to be loaded in a magazine, which are shot as one round. Area Denial frame Grenade Launchers shoot a volley of elemental energy and stick to surfaces. With the singular exception of [[Witherhoard]], however, projectiles will not stick to enemies. Heavy Grenade Launchers fall under one of the 4 archetypes: adaptive, precision, rapid-fire, and compressed wave frame. Adaptive frame grenade launchers fire at 120 RPM, while rapid fire frames fire at 150 RPM. Compressed wave frames behave similarly to normal wave frame grenade launchers used by Special Grenade Launchers, and precision frames have grenades that detonate after bouncing on a hard surface.
