The second shot in the burst does not have damage falloff, and due to its recoil, it can be treated like a [[scout rifle]]. When an enemy is killed with Graviton Lance, they will be sent flying backwards to explode into Void energy, releasing seeking projectiles that also make enemies explode if they are killed by them. Graviton Lance was a top contender in the Crucible as of the 1.2.0 update, which introduced a significant buff to pulse rifles. Amongst the guns improved by this update were the [[Vigilance Wing]] exotic pulse rifle, which rivaled the time to kill of Graviton Lance to within hundredths of a second. Despite this time in the sun, Graviton Lance became vastly outclassed by other guns, and sat near to the bottom of the pile in effectiveness within Crucible environments.
