As the only member of the Scorned Barons to escape capture by [[Petra Venj]] and Cayde's Six, Fikrul fled into hiding while his comrades were imprisoned within the [[Prison of Elders]]. He was subsequently resurrected by [[Uldren Sov]] using the wish-magic of the Taken Ahamkara [[Riven]], becoming the first of the Scorn. Fikrul believed that the Scorn are the natural evolution of the [[Fallen]], and that through his leadership, the race could find immortality. With the Scorned Barons now freed, Fikrul and the other Barons were offered the bounty of the [[Tangled Shore]] by [[Uldren]] as a reward for their loyalty, bringing chaos to the local [[Spider's Syndicate|Fallen]] under [[The Spider]]'s command. Prior to the [[Hunt for Riven's Clutch]], aboard a commandeered Ketch, Fikrul would address a crew of Scorn loyal to him of rumors he had heard of Scorn being raised on Earth near an old ruined castle in the [[European Dead Zone]]. It was soon revealed that the Scorn that roamed this castle were former Eliksni members from the House of Kings who were resurrected via a wish granted by a [[Hefnd|Dead Ahamkara]]. Fikrul's plans of finding Ahamkara power were not over, however, as he would later task his Scorn with trying to secure one of Riven's eggs. Osiris and Mara Sov observed the Scorn sent in and realized they were not under The Witness's control, as they bore Fikrul's mark. It was there that they knew that Fikrul's goal was to make a wish, although the nature of this wish is currently unknown. Despite his failure to claim the last of Riven's eggs, Fikrul would remain in hiding, outside of the Vanguard's sight, not taking part in the Coalition's final battle with the Witness as the Guardian managed to successfully enter the Traveler's [[Pale Heart]]. After much sacrifice and tremendous struggle, the Coalition's united efforts succeeded in destroying the Witness forever, thwarting the Final Shape. Though the people rejoiced at the fall of their great enemy, there was still much work to be done with Crow, now fully risen as the new Hunter Vanguard, making it his mission to track down Fikrul's whereabouts, with Spider and Variks aiding him in this endeavor.

Shortly after the [[The Witness|Witness]]' defeat, several paracausal artifacts known as [[Echo (object)|Echoes]] broke off from [[the Traveler|Traveler]] and scattered all across the solar system. One of which, the [[Echo of Riis]],<ref>[https://x.com/DestinyTheGame/status/1874863234001285417?t=aNGdtbcQEgQH1jdMhTrm0Q&s=19 Destiny The Game on X]</ref> would find its way into Fikrul's hands. He would imbue the Echo into his staff, granting him new vigor and power over the [[Light]]. Fikrul would use this power to begin corrupting living Eliksni into a newly evolved breed of Scorn, referred to as [[Revenant Scorn|Na-Veskirisk]] ("not lifeless") in Eliskni. After amassing a sizable army of Revenant Scorn to his cause, Fikrul attacked [[Riis-Reborn]] in an attempt to capture and transform as many Eliksni as possible into Scorn, adding them to his new army.<ref name="Na-Veskirisk>'''Bungie (2024/10/8)''', ''[[Destiny 2]]: [[Episode: Revenant]] - [[Na-Veskirisk]]''</ref>

During the siege, the [[The Guardian|Guardian]] and [[Uldren Sov|Crow]] appeared on-site to find [[Eramis, Kell of Darkness]] who returned to the system to help defend her people. Fikrul picked up on this and would ambush the Guardian and Eramis with a small deployment of Scorn led by a [[Revenant Baron]]. The ambush failed and the group fled onto the [[H.E.L.M.]] with Eramis in custody. Fikrul however, followed after them and transmated abord the H.E.L.M. in front of the group. The Fanatic announced to Crow that he had been gifted with the power to make all Eliksni their children. In a demonstration of his newfound power, he used the Echo to corrupt the Eliksni crew within a House Salvation Ketch who were attempting to rescue Eramis, turning them into Revenant Scorn. After proclaiming himself as [[Kell#Kell of Kells Prophecy|Kell of Kells]], Fikrul transmated away as the Ketch crashed into the H.E.L.M., causing the ship to crash onto [[Europa]]'s surface.<ref name="Na-Veskirisk/>

Later on, after Eramis gave the Guardian the coordinates to a House Salvation enclave in [[Kell's Grave]], Fikrul appeared again shortly after Crow and the Guardian arrived, telling them that he and his Scorn have been waiting for them. After arriving at Fikrul's location, Crow parleyed with his faithful acolyte in an attempt to convince him to stop. Fikrul meanwhile, attempted to reach out to his 'father' and get him to join his cause so they may rule together, with Crow as King and Fikrul as Kell. However, Crow rejected this offer and told Fikrul to let the Eliksni prisoners go, coming clean with how he lied and wronged Fikrul and his [[Scorned Barons|Barons]], explaining how it was a fit of delusion. Fikrul however, refused to believe his 'father' would say such things to him after everything he did for him, appalled that a [[Guardian|"dead thing"]] would wear his father's face and use his voice, yet forget his purpose. Scorned, Fikrul would order their deaths and retreat, vowing to rip Crow from Uldren's bones. Luckily, the Guardian managed to free the Eliksni prisoners and disarmed an explosive device from destroying the area and claiming more lives. After the failed parley between him and Crow, Fikrul and his Revenant Scorn began ferrying more Eliksni prisoners to the Prison of Elders, which has long since fallen into a state of ruin. Fikrul planned to establish a stronghold within the prison and corrupt more Eliksni prisoners so that the Revenant Scorn could overrun The Reef. The Guardian was sent into the prison and tasked with eliminating Fikrul's forces, and finding out the Fanatic's next move, with the assistance of Variks. However, things took an unexpected turn for both the Scorn and the Guardian, as it was revealed that the rampant [[The Mad Warden|Warden Servitor]] was still active within the prison, despite being destroyed by the Guardian many years ago. With the arrival of new combatants, The malfunctioning Servitor began pulling old prisoners out of cold storage to deal with the invaders and continued following its programming. Variks would try to shut it down, but the Warden rejected his authority. Adding onto this, The power of the Echo of Riis drew the attention of other enemy forces, such as the [[Shadow Legion]], the [[The Dread|Dread]], and even the [[Lucent Brood]] to the prison. After the Guardian persevered through many of the Warden Servitor's trials, Variks concluded that Fikrul was not within the prison itself, but would soon arrive to alter more Eliksni captives into Revenant Scorn. Variks' words would turn out to be true, as Fikrul would arrive at the Prison of Elders. But Mithrax, who was suffering from the Curse of [[Nezarec, Final God of Pain|Nezarec]], claimed that Fikrul wasn't just there to convert more Eliksni prisoners into Revenant Scorn. Rather, he was instead searching for something deep within the lower depths of the prison. Variks believed it was some kind of weapon or the corpse of a long-forgotten foe. Either way, the Guardian and Variks would arrive on site to find Fikrul and stop him from finding whatever he was after. But as the Guardian ventured deeper into the prison, Both Variks and Mithrax began to hear a mysterious faint song once sung during the times of old Riis. The Guardian followed the hymn to its source, and arrived at Fikrul's location, revealing that it was coming from Echo of Riis itself, which turned out to be alive. However, they did not have long to question what was going on, as upon arriving at Fikrul's location, the team witnessed him using the Echo's power on a nearby cyropod. After Fikrul finished his spell, the pod opened, revealing a terrible surprise. Fikrul had successfully revived [[Skolas, Kell of Kells|Skolas]], the former Kell of the House of Wolves; Now reborn as '''"Skolas, Scorned Wolf"'''. After resurrecting Skolas, Fikrul would retreat again, leaving The Guardian and Skolas to face each other again. After the revival of Skolas, Fikrul would retreat to [[The Watchtower]] within the Tangled Shore, which had been converted into a [[Revenant Fortress]]. He began to fall deeper into madness, becoming increasingly desperate to prove his worth as Kell of Kells and as a savior for his children, not just as a mistake born of Ahamkara magic. But unbeknownst to the Fanatic, the Guardian would later learn about Fikrul's new stronghold through information given to them by Spider. Meanwhile, Eido began to try to weaponize her experiments against the Scorn. The Guardian soon arrived at the Revenant Fortress and were greeted by many scorn watching them from afar. They did not attack because for Fikrul to claim the title of Kell of Kells, he must be seen killing the Guardian first, as they were appointed by Mithrax as a [[Slayer Baron]] of the House of Light. As the Slayer Baron navigated their way through the Fortress, they would discover that residual energy from the Echo created a reflective dimensional projection of the fortress, known as the [[Revenant Plane]]. Fikrul had also used the Echo's power to resurrect a few of the same Scorned Barons that the Guardian once killed during their quest to avenge Cayde-6; [[Araskes, the Trickster]], who would show up multiple times throughout the mission, [[Kaniks, the Mad Bomber]], who occupied the fighting pits within the Fortress, and [[Hiraks, the Mindbender]], who managed to master the ability to travel between the material plane and the Revenant plane. The Guardian would once again defeat each of these Barons one at a time. However, their victory would be short-lived as Fikrul would show up seconds later to revive them again while also announcing that he and his scorn no longer feared the violence and death the Guardian brought to them and once again proclaimed himself as a savior for all Eliksni. He also mentions how because of him, the scorn were finally free to be themselves, no longer serving under the yolk of other oppressors like Uldren and the Witness. Eventually, After finally despatching Araskes, the Guardian would end up confronting Fikrul within his throne room. However, midway through the fight, The Fanatic would retreat and summon another Scorned Baron to fight for him, [[Reksis Vahn, the Hangman]]. Like the other previous barons, the Guardian would eliminate the Hangman as they did before and claim his flail to assist Eido in making stronger tonics. They also managed to complete Eido's framework, adding a new weapon to their arsenal. Following Ixis' notes, Eido began to craft a special Tonic that would alter the polarity of Ether within an Eliksni and purge the Darkness from their body, suffusing it with Light. This time, Fikrul did not summon another champion to fight for him; he would face the Guardian by himself to show everyone that he was not a mistake, he was worthy to become Kell of Kells. The Slayer Baron and the Fanatic engaged each other in a great battle until Fikrul prepared to unleash a powerful Arc energy attack, forcing the Guardian to retreat into the Revenant Plane. Fikrul would follow them but, at that moment, the Guardian shattered the mirror gateway behind him, stunning Fikrul on the spot. The Guardian proceeded to unload their entire arsenal upon the Fanatic, causing him to retreat into the material plain. The Guardian chased after him and found Fikrul greatly weakened but still willing to continue the fight. With the Eido's Tonic in hand, the Guardian rushed Fikrul and stabbed the Tonic into his chest, piercing his heart and injecting the Tonic into his body. Fikrul tried to pull the injector out of himself, but it was already too late as the tonic began to work its magic, slowly killing him from within. ===Legacy===
With the death of Fikrul, the Echo of Riis would become free to choose a new bearer to wield its power. As the Echo wished to return home to Riis, it would end up choosing Eramis as its new bearer. The former Kell of Darkness would grant the Echo's request and take it far out of the Solar System and would return to Riis to rebuild and start a new life, but not before using the Echo's power to purge the curse of Nezarec from Mithrax's body.<ref name="Diffraction"/>

As for the remaining Revenant Scorn Fikrul had risen, they would continue to be a persistent threat within the Solar system. Ultimately, the Scorn would find new leadership in the newly resurrected Skolas, who remained within the ruined Prison of Elders under Fikrul's command. The Scorned Wolf would once again challenge the Guardians who imprisoned him years ago. ==Personality and traits==

Like all Scorn, Fikrul displays a degree of insanity, though he is more coherent than many of his Scorn underlings or some of the other Barons. Fikrul appears to see the Scorn as a family, as he refers to Uldren as "Father", calls the other Scorn Barons his siblings, and calls his Scorn underlings his children. This is further supported by his genuine outrage at the other Barons' death at the hand of The Guardian, as well as his willingness to resurrect his inferiors, as well as any deceased Fallen as Scorn (although the latter could easily be more driven by his goals and his need of an army to complete them). He also doesn't believe in killing without purpose (he only kills to "immortalize" an Eliksni or further his sense of righteousness), and as such berates The Guardian for murdering the Scorn Barons just to pursue revenge. It also seems that he genuinely cares for the Eliksni species, as he howls at The Guardian for murdering countless Fallen, who have done nothing but try to survive. Overall, it seems Fikrul is more of an anti-villain; he has sympathetic intentions and is far from truly evil or immoral, but he is still willing to commit dark acts to carry out what he perceives as good or just.

===Nothing Left to Say/The Hollowed Lair===
Fikrul engages the player with his [[Fanatic's Staff|signature lightning staff]], which fires charged [[Arc]] projectiles that can break a [[Guardian]]'s shield in just a few hits, akin to a [[Wire Rifle]]. He will also use his staff to summon large electric circles known as Wrath of the Scorned, which can summon lesser Scorn units; these circles take up a large space and can deal heavy shocking damage over time to anyone that stands within it. Occasionally, whenever his health reaches a certain threshold, Fikrul will surround himself with [[Void]] energy to render him immune to all damage shortly before teleporting the player into the air, surrounding himself with a random elemental shield, and tethering them to his staff, dragging them towards him so he can smash the ground to break their shields and knock them back. To keep up his attack, he will teleport towards the player and overwhelm them with high-impact electric staff projectiles. Fikrul's powerful attacks and tether ability make him quite possibly the most dangerous Scorn Baron to engage, for the only safe way to engage him is keeping as much distance between him and oneself as possible.

===Kell's Fall===
Fikrul, the Fanatic is encountered within the Throne Room where he will serve as the final encounter of [[Kell's Fall]]. He will fire Arc projectiles at the Guardian with his staff and will summon throngs of Scorn to his aid. When a large potion of the Scorn units are slain, Fikrul will begin an attack that will cause a wipe if the Guardian remains within the material plane. To avoid this attack, the Guardian must enter the mirror into the [[Revenant Plane]]. Upon arriving into the Revenant Plane, the Guardian will acquire the '''Refracting''' buff that lasts for 2 minutes and 10 seconds. When the timer expires, they will acquire the '''Shattering''' debuff that will damage and overtime kill them if they continue to remain within the Revenant Plane.

To acquire the '''Revenant Empowerment''' buff, the Guardian must kill a [[Pit Boss]] to summon two [[Revenant Essentia]]s that will each drop three stacks of '''Revenant Essence''' upon being killed which will last for 45 seconds. Acquiring 10 stacks of '''Revenant Essence''' will allow them to acquire the '''Revenant Empowerment''' buff that will cancel out the '''Refracting''' buff without becoming the '''Shattering''' debuff. Unless you are playing the Diffraction variant, the Guardian will be able to return to the material plane where Fikrul will summon [[Reksis Vahn, the Hangman]] for the Reflection variant or the [[Screeb Matriarch]] for the Distortion variant before transmatting away shortly after. While during the Diffraction variant, Fikrul will prevent the Guardian from departing the Revenant Plane and will attempt to use his wipe attack to eliminate them. To prevent the wipe attack from being emitted, the Young Wolf must shoot the archway to stun the Fanatic. After he is stunned, the Guardian can damage Fikrul during the DPS phase until he eventually recovers. Fikrul will then teleport back to the material plane and the Guardian will lose the '''Revenant Empowerment''' buff after departing the Revenant Plane, forcing them to repeat the previous mechanics until the encounter is complete. Once Fikrul, the Fanatic is heavily wounded he will retreat back to the material plane where the Guardian must pursue him to commence the final cutscene.
