The Eliksni siege or alternatively named the Hundred-years Siege or Never-Ending Siege is a conflict that has spanned nearly an entire century between the Last City and the Eliksni Houses. It seemingly ended roughly one year after the SIVA Crisis, but resumed with the existence of the House of Dusk during the Red War. It officially ended with the Vanguard's alliance with Mithrax, Kell of the House of Light as the Last City dealt with the Endless Night after the Vanguard signed an armistice with the Cabal Empress Caiatl.

Red War
After the Cabal Red Legion under the command of Dominus Ghaul successfully invaded the Last City and drove the Guardians into a retreat, a new faction of Fallen emerged bearing different banners, new leadership, weapons and tactics, the House of Dusk. This new House of Fallen took advantage from the chaos of the Red War to emerge from the shadows and began to pillage across the system, engaging not only the Guardians but also the Cabal, Hive, Vex and even the Taken.

The Fallen House of Dusk were primarily encountered on Earth in the European Dead Zone, on Nessus and on Titan after following the remnants of the Vanguard Fleet. Though these new Fallen surprised the Guardians and caused them to wonder who is leading them, they nonetheless figured out that the House of Dusk was a combination of all the other houses as their previous losses made them desperate enough to unite.

After the Guardians defeated Ghaul, his Red Legion and reclaimed their home, the Vanguard had begun initiating adventures and Strikes against their remaining enemies, the Fallen included. The Guardians began disrupting the Dusk Fallen's raids, Glimmer drilling's and killing high-profile targets when they encounter them. One major Fallen offensive occurred on Nessus, where the Fallen attempted to breach the remains of the Golden Age vessel, Exodus Black, for anything of value. The AI, Failsafe, called for aid and the Guardians quickly arrived to stop the Fallen. Fighting through the ships remains, the Guardians defeated the leader of the raiding party, Thaviks, the Depraved, driving the Fallen away just as the Vanguard sent in more teams to secure the site.

Another Fallen plot was discovered in the EDZ where the Fallen sought to create an enhanced version of Ether to give them an edge using modified Cabal technology they had stolen. The Guardians tracked the Fallen's supply of the Ether to a secluded part of the EDZ and destroyed it. However, to prevent further production, the Guardians hunted down the leaders of the project, encountering Raksil, Archon Priest. Cornering the Priest in the Salt Mines, the Guardians succeeded in taking down the Archon Priest and his enhanced Fallen defenses. Killing the Priest forced the Prime Servitor creating the enhanced Ether, Serkuleks, the Fount, out of hiding. The Guardians chased the Servitor throughout the Dead Zone and were able to destroy it, depriving the House of Dusk of the means to produce more enhanced ether.

Hunt for the Scorn
The war took a dark turn when a terrifying clan of Fallen pirates and criminals known as the Scorn besieged the Prison of Elders and broke out it's leading Barons, forcing the Guardian and Cayde-6 to quickly respond with an attack. Teaming up with Petra Venj, the trio contained most of the prison. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse when Cayde was confronted by the Fallen Barons and Archon behind the breakout, with Uldren Sov revealing himself as the Scorn's leader. Cayde-6, despite putting up an admirable fight, was subsequently murdered by Uldren with his own gun, the Ace of Spades. The Guardian and Petra arrive just before Cayde passes and Uldren quickly flees from the scene alongside the Barons. The Scorn then began to reside within the Tangled Shore and the Dreaming City, attempting to accomplish an unknown objective. The Guardians, driven by vengeance over their murdered comrade, swore to hunt down Uldren and the Scorn Barons. Meanwhile, in the Reef, the Awoken were completely scattered after Uldren's betrayal, leaving the region of space a lawless warzone with the Scorn running amok, spreading chaos.

However, while the Vanguard mourned the loss of a comrade, Commander Zavala refused to launch an all-out assault on the Reef to take down Uldren and his Barons, rationalizing that the Last City did not have the strength to conduct such an attack. Zavala argued that the Last City itself, their people and the awakened Traveler must remain their first priority. Despite Ikora Rey's strong objections, Zavala declared the Reef off-limits. Regardless, the Guardian conducted the hunt for Uldren on their own, without the support of the Vanguard. With only a small lead from Ikora, the Guardian headed to the Tangled Shore to find any clues to Uldren's whereabouts. While fighting Scorn Fallen, Petra Venj arrived to aid them in avenging Cayde and all the other innocent lives Uldren took.

The House of Dusk immediately began to war with the Scorn, beginning a major civil war in the Reef.

Taking a chance and needing allies within the Tangled Shore, Petra enlisted the aid of a mysterious Fallen mob that was discovered in the Tangled Shore. The Queen's Wrath and the Guardian forged an uneasy alliance with The Spider, boss of the Tangled Shore's Fallen mob. In return for information on the location of the Scorn Barons, as well as Uldren, the Guardian would disrupt Scorn operations and take out their leaders, thus restoring the Spider's territory and influence. The Guardian agreed to the Spider's terms and began to hunt down the Scorn Barons one-by-one, leaving only Uldren and Fikrul, the Fanatic.

The Guardian finally tracked Uldren down to a mysterious Awoken Watchtower that holds some of the Awoken's deepest secrets. Just outside the Watchtower, the Guardians faced Fikrul and killed the Scorn Archon, thereby ridding the Scorn of their leadership. Deep within the tower, it is revealed that Uldren's true goal was to find his sister, Queen Mara Sov, who he believed was still alive and trapped behind a mystic gate that can only be opened by a combination of Light and Darkness. Carrying a trace of Darkness within him and a Shard of the Traveler, Uldren succeeded in opening the gate. However, to his horror, what emerged from the gate was not his sister but a monstrous organic Servitor-like Taken Chimera, the Voice of Riven. Uldren had been used to release the creature all along and Mara Sov was never the one guiding him. It was in fact an Ahamkara named Riven, who was Taken by Oryx shortly before his defeat and manipulated Uldren into opening the gateway into the Dreaming City.

The Guardian arrived just in time to face the creature and, despite its strange power, they succeeded in destroying it, also releasing Uldren after it captured him. Utterly defeated and powerless, the disgraced Awoken Prince professed that everything he had done, no matter how terrible, he did for his sister. Unmoved by Uldren's declarations of righteousness Perta and the Guardian train their weapons on him, and he is summarily executed, avenging Cayde and the other lives the Scorn had taken and ruined.

At a later date, the Guardians maintained vigilance over the Tangled Shore to hunt down any Prison of Elders escapees and provide favors for the Spider to pay off their "debt" to the Fallen Mob. However, the Guardian encountered a resurrected Fikrul who aimed to reestablish Scorn dominance over the Reef and avenge his Barons. Fighting their way through the Scorn's lair, the Guardians faced off against the Scorn Archon once again. Despite his power and determination, Fikrul was once again slain but swore that he would return.

Battle of the Forges
At a later time, the Spider's Syndicate would find itself splintered after a falling out between its leaders. While the Spider's forces maintained their alliance with the Last City, a rogue force under the command of the Spider's brother, Siviks, grew too ambitious and decided to seize power over the Fallen in the wake of the Scorn's crippling attacks and the loss of leadership, forming his syndicate called the Kell's Scourge. At first, Siviks did not reach the notice of the Guardians until he and his group stole valuable and advanced technology from the secret weapons foundry, the Black Armory, granting Siviks the power he needed to establish his command, allowing him to gain the allegiance of deserting House of Dusk Fallen. However, news of their theft of the Black Armory and a push into the Spider's territory reached the Last City. As a result, the Armory's curator, Ada-1, formed an alliance with the Guardians to end the threat of Siviks and the Kell's Scourge before they could steal any more of her armory's weapons and cause irreparable damage.

After defeating several forces of Fallen in the EDZ on Earth, an intercepted signal revealed that Siviks was on Nessus. The Guardians located the Scourge leader at The Conflux alongside Telksis the Pillager. Siviks escaped and left Telksis to defend the Black Armory caches, but the Pillager's efforts were in vain. The Guardians were then able to  eliminate Serekis-9, Kell's Scourge who guarded the Gofannon Forge and then dispose of Zevious-3, Forge Warden, thereby securing the Black Armory's forges before the Kell's Scourge could use them.

In their failure to capture the forges, the Scourge established a secret hideout in The Last City's outer abandoned sectors and proceeded to target the Black Armory vault, aiming to pillage it, but the Guardians caught up and thwarted their efforts. There, the biggest Fallen attack on the City since the Twilight Gap would begin, the Scourge of the Past raid. To ensure their victory, the Scourge utilized a terrifying, enormous war machine named Insurrection Prime to breach the vault and destroy the Guardians. Insurrection Prime would become one of the most powerful Prime Servitors ever encountered by the Guardians, rivaling Aksis, Archon Prime himself in sheer power.

After an immense, chaotic battle that reduced the area to ruin, the forces of the City succeeded in destroying Siviks's army and his Prime Servitor monstrosity, saving the Black Armory Vault from falling into the wrong hands.

Later on, the Guardians finally managed to track down and confront Siviks himself in the Niobe Labs where the mad leader of the Kell's Scourge aimed to use its secrets to continue his war. Despite Siviks using the labs defense protocols to his advantage, the Guardians were able to best him and his Fallen reinforcements to put an end to the Spider's mad brother, reclaiming the Black Armory's secrets and technology for Ada-1 and the City. Thus, the Kell's Scourge was left leaderless and utterly crippled.

The Shipstealer
Following the disbandment of the Kell's Scourge and Siviks's death, the Fallen were left in complete disarray once more, even the House of Dusk found itself splintering and radicalizing. With the failures of the current Fallen factions, a recent trend of "syndicates" began to emerge in the Fallen's crippling society. However, some figures of the Fallen emerged to lead their people.

Variks continued to name himself as the "Kell of Kells" of the House of Judgement, gathering what few Fallen he could for the sake of his fallen species. Another named Mithrax, a former Dusk Captain, defected from his faction and founded the House of Light which he allied with the Last City.

Most notably, Eramis, a Fallen Baroness of the House of Devils escaped from the Prison of Elders during the Scorn's rampage and began a campaign to reestablish the House of Devils, gathering what loyalists and traditionalists she could to bring her house to power once again. After gathering a large enough force, Eramis launched a bold raid on the Guardians former home in the Old Tower to pillage the ruins for anything of value. Eramis's forces managed to breach into the Tower's Cryptarch Vaults and acquired a weapon once belonging to the Guardian: Outbreak Prime. Due to the weapons SIVA properties, Eramis sought to use the weapons technology for her benefit. Unfortunately for the Shipstealer, Mithrax learned of her plot and gathered his Guardian allies to thwart her forces. Despite the efforts of Siriks, Loyal to Eramis, the Guardians caught up with the exfiltration team, killed Siriks and required their old weapon, now Outbreak Perfected. Mithrax then departed following their mission's success and what was left of Eramis's forces fled from the Old Tower.

The Black Fleet's Return
Following the discovery of The Lunar Pyramid, the Sol Divisive's attempted invasion on the Moon, the Psion Flayers' defeat on Mercury and the destruction of the star-killing weapon known as The Almighty, the Black Fleet arrived in the Solar System, forcing the Guardians to take endeavours to find out what The Black Fleet actually wants as the Pyramids touched down on various worlds. During all this time, Eramis had largely gone into hiding after her failed heist on the Old Tower. Remaining under the Vanguard's radar, she saw an opportunity after finding a way to enter a Pyramid on Europa and follow the instructions the Voice in the Darkness told her. Turning her back on the Fallen's traditions and worship of the Great Machine, Eramis discovered a way to command the power of Stasis for herself and her followers, proclaiming herself the Kell of Darkness. With this power, Eramis sought to achieve that which all those who preceded her failed to do: to destroy the Guardians once and for all. In addition, Eramis sought to claim vengeance against the Traveler itself for abandoning her people to the Whirlwind and favoring humanity.

Discovering the threat, the mysterious Exo Stranger called the Guardians to Europa to combat the new House of Salvation. Heeding the call and realizing the true scope of the danger, the Guardians were forced to wield the Darkness itself to battle this new faction of Fallen. Many Guardians took up Stasis to combat the House of Salvation along with The Guardian themselves who assassinated the House's leadership and defeated their Kell, Eramis, causing her to be sealed within a Stasis tomb to meet an unknown fate. Shortly after, they and a team of five other Guardians ventured into the Deep Stone Crypt to stop Atraks, the Wildcard from utilizing the technology within. During the raid on the Deep Stone Crypt, Atraks successfully became an Exo and resurrected Taniks. After Atraks' defeat, Taniks took control of the operation in an attempt to destroy Europa by crashing the Morning Star into the surface. The team of Guardians minimized the damage while forcing Taniks to take the brunt of the damage, forcing him to fuse with a Heavy Shank to survive. After a desperate last stand by Taniks and the House of Salvation, Taniks was destroyed and the House was scattered. It soon became the final conflict of the Eliksni Siege as the Vanguard formed the Coalition: an alliance with the Imperial Cabal, the House of Light, the Reefborn Awoken, the Cloud Striders of Neomuna, and a proto-Worm named Ahsa, as they work together to stop the Witness and its Disciples from enacting the Final Shape.
