Relentless Variables are special, extremely powerful Tormentors encountered throughout the corrupted depths of the Infinite Forest. Sometime before the events of Lightfall, these special Tormentors were released into the Forest by The Witness in an effort to secure it's depths so that it can utilize the engine for its dark purposes. Ever since Mercury's return, these dark entities patrol the Infinite Forests Foundation and either stalk or eliminate any unwelcome intruder.
