Maker's Lament is a Grimoire subscetion added in the Season of Sorrow of Destiny 2. It details Shin'ra's ascension as the Hive God of Artificing, his hunts for the Leviathan, creation of the Nephilim and his far early campaigns in the Sol System with the Weapons of Sorrow.

I—Metamorphosis

Verse X:I — Metamorphosis

I saw the end before it could begin.

I was granted visions of the fate of my world, a Syzygy, a god wave that would destroy all of the young krill.

The visions drove me mad like the king before me. I gave his daughters the chance for survival.

Now they have returned from the depths to give me a new chance, to survive the madness of the whispers.

I would take this new morph. They call it the Shaper. One that is rare, and only two would ever exist.

With this new shape, I shall make a compendium of my travels and knowledge I take in my campaign of conquest. I shall journey across the stars, bringing death and tithes to the worms and gods.

As I shall bring war to the moons of my world.
