Barrier Taken Captains are Champions of the Taken, that are empowered by a unique shielding powers used, at close-death.

Gameplay

Barrier Taken Captains, are just Normal Taken Captains, utilizing their Taken Shrapnel Launchers or Shock Blades; They also still use Darkness bolts for their advantage. But when at low health, they will use a unique ability, which is projecting a barrier-shield, to keep them safe and regenerate their lost health, but will still use their blighted weapons, as well as being able to use their Taken ability. To prevent this, Guardians must use anti-barrier rounds to keep these champions from shielding again, letting anyone to sink damage.

Trivia

The Barrier Taken Captains bears a resemblance to Skolas, Kell of Kells.
