Savathûn, the Witch Queen: Difference between revisions

Despite her power and efforts, Savathûn was defeated. In her final moments, the Witch Queen admits that she miscalculated but that the Guardian had done the same, being so protective of the Traveler, they wouldn't allow her to protect it. Nonetheless, Savathûn states that The Witness is coming, that the game is theirs to play now, whether to win or to lose before ultimately collapsing. As her Ghost, Immaru, observes his dead Lightbearer, held at gunpoint by the Guardian, he escapes as the Traveler returns back to the Last City in a massive flash of Light. Though Immaru had escaped, and now leads the Lucent Brood in Savathûn's stead, Ikora nonetheless took her defeat as a win, with the Guardian proclaiming that they must now prepare themselves for the Witness's return and prevent another Collapse.

Savathûn's ultimate fate remains uncertain. She was killed by the [[Guardian]] and her corpse taken by the [[Vanguard]], who stored it in a vault on [[Mars]]. Her Ghost [[Immaru]] remains alive and in hiding, presumably waiting for a chance to resurrect the Witch Queen. Despite her currently incapacitated status, she may have laid plans to goad the Vanguard into reviving her, which would later be proven. The contrasting and often open-ended information she provides through her "Two truths, two lies" riddles at the Altar of Reflection can only be clarified by speaking to her in the present, after all. Even in (temporary) death, her schemes know no end.
