Eventually, Praksis gained her intrigue, and each day they would talk through the walls of their cells and dream of a new world. He often spoke to Eramis about his fascination with machines, about how he wanted to build and bend them to his will. He once shared a scheme for capturing the Great Machine by binding it with Fallen Arc wires as a means to reclaim its power. He drew his inspiration from listening to the prison stories of Dominus Ghaul who had used a similar device to siphon the Traveler's power.
He often spoke about his fascination for machines to Eramis and how he wanted to build and bend them to his will. He once shared his mad idea of capturing the Great Machine by binding it with Fallen Arc wires as a means to reclaim its power. He drew his inspiration from listening to the prison stories of Dominus Ghaul who had used a similar device to gain the Traveler's power.

Eramis grew curious about his mindset and continued to let him talk, probing him with questions to test the young Wolf and make him examine his own ideas more closely. Praksis wished to reclaim the Eliksni's former glory by reclaiming the Great Machine, but Eramis argued that although the Great Machine made the Eliksni strong, when it abandoned them they were left weaker than before it arrived. Eventually, Eramis convinced Praksis that he needed to re-evaluate his entire approach, abandoning the entire concept of reliance on a greater power.
Eramis grew curious about his mindset and continued to let him talk and queried him with questions to test the young Wolf. Should he fail the test, he would lose her interest. Eramis argued that the Great Machine made the Eliksni strong, but when it abandoned them they were left weaker than before it arrived. She wondered why he sought its power again. Praksis answered that he wanted the Eliksni to return to that strength with a muffle of arrogance emanating from his cell.

Eramis pressed him on how can he aimed to build that strength from the foundations of weakness. The reality of this realization brought silence to Praksis.
Eramis continued by questioning if the Great Machine made them strong or if in fact, they had that strength drawn out from themselves. His silence continued. She then claimed that reliance was the greatest weakness and asked him to remember this and described his ideas to that of Eliksni infants playing with stacking spheres. His silence persisted for so long that Eramis wondered if he was worth her time. He then answered that he will create "new spheres". To her delight, Eramis closed her eyes and smiled at the prospect of what she heard.
